If you want help, you'll have to get in line behind this dumb, stinky green monkey. He's been trying to learn how to play with bOING bOING since 1988. He hasn't figured out that he can click on the blue and pink buttons at the top of the window to navigate through the shiny bOING bOING Web site. Isn't he stupid? If you want, you can punch him by clicking on his nose.

bOING bOING used to be a paper magazine. It was started in 1988 by Mark Frauenfelder and Carla Sinclair. Gareth Branwyn soon joined forces and the trio created 15 issues of the zine.

It was a lot of fun. We met many interesting, charming and cute people (and a few boring, miserable, pesky, and slatternly people as well), and we got all sorts of great stuff in the mail for free. But producing bOING bOING for mass distribution entailed a lot of mind-numbing work: ad sales, printing, distribution, subscribers, etc. It was more than we could handle, especially since Mark held down a full-time job at Wired (being used to the corporate hive-worker lifestyle), Gareth lived on the other side of the country (basically fiddling with his computer and flirting in chat rooms all day), and Carla was addicted to nail polish and manicures.

We used to print 17,500 copies of bOING bOING every issue. Now we just print 1,000 copies and send them to subscribers, and people who send us $5 for a single copy (but we are sold out of the current issue, #15, so don't send us money yet. If you want to get on the list for the next issue send Mark an email).

Our mailing address is 11288 Ventura Blvd #818, Studio City CA 91604. Our phone number is 818/505-0328.

OK, that's enough information about us. Have fun playing here. Remember, if you get bored, you can always come back here and hit the monkey.
