The late-model dual-USB iBooks have the technical capacity to do "monitor spanning" — plugging in an external display and showing different windows on each screen — but they ship with the feature disabled. Not coincidentally, the higher-end Titanium laptops have this feature and use it as a selling-point. Anyway, a little judicious hackery-pokery will turn it on in your icebook, and "Hello, monitor-spanning!"
