Neverwinter Nights (NWN) is brilliantly suited to this sort of Machinima creation. With its quick and easy mapping and character creation systems, you can film an army of Uruk-Hai rampaging through your own Middle-Earth for considerably less than the price of a flight to New Zealand.
For this tutorial, we're using the Neverwinter Nights RPG engine to recreate a scene from Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring. At the end of this tutorial, you will have re-created a 30-second clip of LotR, from the climactic battle at the end of "Fellowship" – see our boxout storyboard below.
