James Maxwell's Enchantress is an engaging, dense fantasy that drew me right in.
In a world where magic is used daily for practical purposes, and great warriors use enchanted weapons to defend the land, naturally there is a lot of intrigue and double dealing. Ella and Miro were orphaned in the last great war, over a decade ago, and are now struggling to find themselves. Why are mysterious people so helpful to them? Ella is determined to become and enchantress, and Miro a great swordsman. Events bring their path directly into line with a great evil rising in the East, could it be Miro and Ella who save the land?
Enchantress is a solid, engaging first novel in a fantasy series. This is a fun read, with good action and strong characters. This installment was available in Kindle Unlimited. I'm looking forward to the next.
