I don't care if it's mutilation, decapitation, or amputation. If I hear or read any of those words, I feel queasy immediately. I combat discomfort, though, through knowledge. The more I learn about something, the less fearful I am of it. With that in mind, I'm going to steel my stomach and attempt to learn about the history of amputation. History Scope's YouTube channel goes through the lengthy history of amputations and how lucky we are to live in the modern era. I can't say the video helped me conquer my apprehension around amputation, but it did give me some weird trivia.
