Anyone from the U.S. who finds a Canadian coin in their pocket change can appreciate the frustration felt by people who discover they've been given a Turkish lira (one minted between 2005 and 2008) when they were expecting a 2-euro coin. At the current exchange rate, 2 euros are worth almost 40 Turkish lire. This old scam has resurfaced recently in Spain and other European countries.
