Turn your Plex library into live cable with Bunny Ears TV

Streaming services and Plex are both great ways to spend a lot of time scrolling through options without actually watching anything. A new app takes all your Plex content and plugs it into a live TV guide.

Bunny Ears TV, just released for Apple TV, connects to Plex and generates an on-screen retro cable TV guide. The guide is populated with an automatically refreshing schedule of movies and TV.

The app uses metadata to automatically add content to the appropriate channels. The basic lineup, available in the free version, includes channels like Late Night, which features shows and movies rated R and above; Quick Bites, which are all under 4 minutes; and Fresh Off the Press, which highlights content added within the last 30 days.

A subscription to Bunny Ears TV Plus adds hundreds more channels, from moods like Date Night or Rainy Day, franchises like the MCU, and hyper-specific channels like the Hanks Collection, devoted to America's Dad, Tom Hanks. The lineup can be edited to remove unwanted channels, and custom channels can be created with collections. The subscription costs $2.99 per month or $17.99 per year and includes DVR features like pausing and restarting. A $29.99 lifetime subscription is being offered for a limited time.

Multiple libraries are supported but not simultaneously; a manual switch is required. This is a highly requested feature, but it is not currently planned.
