Here's a press release announcing the formation of a new company, called Anti Viral Technologies, which will be headed up by the original Zicam team. They are hoping to actually cure colds, not just shorten their duration.
"As opposed to long term strategies involving boosting the immune system- or products that merely mask the symptoms — our approach is to actually block the viruses ability to enter the body in the first place," observed Dr. Charles Hensley, the actual creator of Zicam and chairman of AVT.
