The annual SNL joke swap returns

I'm not exactly a strict viewer of long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, but there is one tradition that I'm always seated for: the Weekend Update joke swap. At the end of every season, Michael Che and Colin Jost, the hosts of SNL's satirical news segment Weekend Update, write jokes for each other to read with as straight a face as they can manage. No holds are barred, no topic is taboo, and no amount of humiliation is enough. With yesterday's Will Ferrell-hosted season finale, it was time to bring it back in spectacular fashion.

Usually, Che comes out the victor, if only because he has access to the forbidden technique of "making Jost say outrageously racist things." This time, however, I think Jost clinches it: that Michael Jackson joke was absolutely foul, especially with his family in the audience. All that remains to be seen is how they'll top this next season.
