Erotic wooden puzzles from 1960s spark joy

The whimsical and erotic puzzles of William Accorsi capture the free-spirited vibe of 1960s and '70s folk art. His sculptural puzzles are playful and colorful, with tiny details that make the images feel alive. These are the fidget toys I wish I had on my shelf.

Many of the puzzles balance innocence and mischief in a funny way. At first glance, they look cheerful and chaotic, but the longer you stare at them, the more R-rated details you notice hidden throughout the image. They feel handmade in the best sense, like something created purely for amusement and joy.

From Lepuzzpuzzles, who has two in their collection:

"William Accorsi (b. 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA.) made fun, colorful and often erotic wooden puzzles. Working prolifically in the '60s and '70s, he exemplified the free-loving spirit of the times with playful depictions of free love and visual puns. They often go for hundreds of dollars."
