I just learned Keanu Reeves has a band, so you have to learn that too

I like that we, as a society, have decided that Keanu Reeves is just so nice and charismatic a guy that we keep giving him giant movie roles despite him, quite frankly, not being very good at acting. Not that I object to this system, I just find it very funny.

After recently stumbling across the existence of alt-rock trio Dogstar, however, I finally understand why Reeves isn't an actor: his true destiny is to be a long-haired bassist in a garage jam band. Dogstar has been on and off over the years (mostly off), so I can't blame you for not knowing about them — I sure didn't until I heard "Keanu Reeves' band is releasing a new album after a lengthy hiatus" and got smacked in the face with all the information in that sentence I didn't know.

It's true, though, and the first single from that album goes pretty hard. It's surreal to see Reeves in what appears to be his natural element, just jamming out about as far removed from John Wick as humanly possible. This is pretty clearly where the guy belongs; why do we keep forcing him to star in blockbusters?

No wonder Johnny Silverhand was his best role — evidently, he tapped into some primal well of rocker spirit.
