A video of a Jesus actor ascending into the sky indefinitely made me laugh so hard that I think I scared my neighbors who can hear me through my open window. The viral video shows an actor portraying Jesus during an Easter performance in Seoul being lifted into the air to depict the biblical ascension. Instead of stopping at a dramatic height, the actor keeps rising higher and higher on a crane until he is a small white orb at a truly absurd altitude.
The stunned crowd quickly forgets about the performance and watches the ascending actor in awe and horror. A crane malfunction caused this, which must have been quite terrifying for the actor. It looks as if he was never going to stop — or perhaps not until he reached the Artemis crew.
Luckily, the actor is reported to be safe and well. Things can always go wrong on stage, but I have a feeling he didn't consent to being lifted nearly out of orbit by a giant crane. I wonder if he'll ever be able to trust another stage crew. This moment may have been both the start and end of his acting career.
