Sandcastles: "ultimate sandbox game" takes you to the beach

The wet mud and shingle of Worthing beach isn't ideal for sunbathing, but it was good for building sandcastles that put up a fight when the tide came in. My father and I built vast fortifications by the timber groynes, then watched the waves crawl up the sand, one by one, to reclaim them. So you can bet I'm going to be grabbing a copy of Sandcastles as soon as it releases.

Sandcastle is the ultimate sandbox game. Unlock a variety of tools to gather wet sand, shape towering walls, carve intricate battlements, and engineer elaborate moats designed to withstand or divert the encroaching waves. There are no ticking clocks. Only the slow rhythm of the tide and the warm glow of the sun. Discover secret treasures washed ashore or buried deep into the sand, each adding a touch of personality to your sandy masterpiece.

The developer, Bubblebird Studio, has some form in the casual sandbox genre. It'll be out on Windows, MacOS and Linux when the tide goes out. I will certainly be modding this so the sand is gray and full of bristleworms and tar rind.
