On or after October 8, 2009, Bobby and Sherilynn Jamison and their 6-year-old daughter Madyson disappeared from a remote area of Latimer County, Oklahoma. Their pickup truck was found abandoned a few days later, engine off, their malnourished dog Maisie still inside. Left in the truck: all three family members' ID cards, wallets, mobile phones, a GPS system, and approximately $32,000 in cash — an unusual amount for the family to carry.
Home surveillance footage timestamped the day they left showed the couple making multiple silent trips between their house and the truck. Their movements were described as "trancelike." Sherilynn's handgun and a brown briefcase she loaded into the truck were never recovered. The Jamisons had reportedly told their pastor they were seeing spirits in their home, and Bobby allegedly claimed to have been reading The Satanic Bible.
In November 2013, two hunters found skeletal remains of two adults and a child in remote Latimer County, less than three miles from where the truck had been abandoned. The Oklahoma medical examiner confirmed on July 3, 2014, that the remains were the Jamisons. No cause of death was determined due to the heavily decomposed state of the bodies. The circumstances of their disappearance and deaths remain unknown.
