Here's what Windows 11 Pro does.
BitLocker handles full-disk encryption. That's the same standard enterprises use for compliance, and it's not available on Home at all. Hyper-V lets you run virtual machines for testing or development without breaking your main install, and Windows Sandbox spins up an isolated environment for trying questionable software without lasting consequences. Both come in handy for anyone who occasionally needs to install something sketchy without crossing fingers. Azure AD also connects to business identity systems if your work runs on Microsoft's enterprise platform.
Win 11 Pro also includes everything in Home: Snap layouts for organizing multiple windows, DirectX 12 Ultimate for modern gaming, biometric login through TPM 2.0, and Copilot wired into the taskbar to summarize pages, generate content, or answer questions on the fly. Most of those used to require separate downloads and now ship as part of the OS.
If you're already running Win 10 and Microsoft's free upgrade path doesn't apply to your machine, this license won't install. Run Microsoft's PC Health Check app first to confirm. This is also a Windows license only, so it doesn't come with Microsoft Office. Sorry.
There's still time to upgrde your operating system.
