Trump used the presidency to boost a right-wing post targeting Muslim kindergartners in hijabs, because apparently five-year-old girls in graduation caps are now a national emergency.
This was not a fight over curriculum or school policy. It was a video of children at a graduation ceremony, repackaged as a culture-war alarm bell because the girls were Muslim and visibly so. Trump did not add policy. He added reach.
A kindergarten graduation should be one of the safest images in America: children, families, cheap gowns, proud teachers, someone's phone shaking in the back row. Trump turned it into dangerous rage bait, which is weird cause he's all about protecting kids, right?
Freedom from religious persecution used to be part of that "United States of America founding story."
