At pre-trial hearing, Bradley Manning testifies of mistreatment in detention

"My world just shrank to Camp Arifjan and then my cage. I remember thinking: I'm going to die. I'm stuck here and I'm going to die in animal cage."— Bradley Manning, testifying at Fort Meade on Thursday. (Guardian)

  1. I’ve long suspected the baleful irony that Bradley’s best chance of fair treatment lay with him being so badly mistreated that he would be offered some form of compensatory clemency.
It seems fairly clear that the military were hoping they could induce him to commit suicide through their application of plausibly-deniable torture.
