This animation by Philippa Rice uses an innovative technique I haven't seen before: paper cutouts. The video shows the technique used in different ways, and it's fun to see the possibilities that come from simply cutting paper and animating it. I hope the artist makes more of these soon, because I'm mesmerized.
The clips show a paper doll cartwheeling and shape-shifting. The word "hello" dances around, and a paper doll runs in place atop a sheet of orange construction paper. There's also a wiggly paper snake that dances around.
Although this may look simple, animations like this take a lot of time and effort to pull off. This wholesome video was a great thing to see on my feed first thing today. It's one of the coolest uses of construction paper I've ever seen.
