A man was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment after admitting he took shots at police in Milwaukie, Oregon, while fleeing a traffic stop. Loony Tune, 43, pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree attempted assault and other crimes. Already a convited felon, the sentence was a plea deal arranged with Clackamas County District Attorney's Office.
Toon was pulled over in June 2025, but sped off and opened fire when he was flagged on an warrant. He later abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot into a gold course. He was tracked down days later in Sandy, 20 miles to the east, and taken into custody, according to KPTV out of Portland.
According to the DA's office, at the time of that police stop, Toon was on probation in Columbia County for first-degree attempted kidnapping. As part of his plea agreement, he will also plead guilty to outstanding criminal charges in Washington, Benton, Yamhill and Columbia counties.
The incident was not the hilarious if problematic mayhem that might be suggested by the most memorable life choice made by Toon, formerly known as John Kolb. He presented a serious danger to himself and others.
"This was an incredibly dangerous incident," said Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Wareham Portlock, who prosecuted the case. The deputy district attorney added that Toon "showed callous disregard for every single person in his path … and endangered the lives of four police officers."
Toon agreed to plead guitly to other crimes in return for serving those sentences concurrently. Toon will be out in 14-16 years with good behavior. Toon must pay restitution to the city of Milwaukee and another motorist for damage caused by his bullets. Toon does not have a theme tune.
