There is no color grading in Ba Sing Se. Whoever first made that joke about how men should stop being influencers and become gaffers clearly had the right of it.
After an initial announcement that left me confused about how such a project could get greenlit, Season 2 of Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation has dropped a full-length trailer. Remember how vibrant the original series was? Remember how important color was for distinguishing the setting's four nations? Apparently no one at Netflix heard, and the series continues to look tragically washed-out.
It's not even set in the Arctic anymore! There's no excuse! Gritty realism just doesn't work when you're adapting a show about people controlling the four basic elements with superpowers granted to them by ancient spirits.
If you've never seen the original, go back and do yourself a favor. This one just seems like it'll depress you. It's odd, considering Netflix's other live-action anime adaptation is doing great precisely because it embraces the silliness of the source material.
