"Saw" finally getting a video game adaptation

It feels a little weird that a horror villain whose catchphrase is literally "I want to play a game" hasn't had one yet. Sorry, a good one: apologies to Saw (2009) for Xbox 360.

Horror literally structured around games and puzzles? Localized plots often taking place in a single building? No likenesses to license beyond that one creepy puppet? The IP has been practically begging for a video game, especially as every other legacy horror franchise seems to get one.

Well, wait no longer: Bloober Team has taken some time off working on their Silent Hill remake to whip up Saw: Genesis. Rather than a story-based affair about worming your way out of Jigsaw's clutches, Genesis is a 3v1 multiplayer game in the vein of The Outlast Trials. No, seriously, it looks just like The Outlast Trials with a Saw skin.

Still, I'm sure getting my friends horribly mutilated will be fun no matter the setting.
