Howl you know if Werwulf is worth seeing if you don't watch this trailer?

Writer-director Robert Eggers (Nosferatu, The Witch) moves his moody bleak weirdness to medieval England for Werwulf, which comes to theaters this Christmas. It's not clear exactly what the story is about, but it's looks like it has a lot to do with werewolves. Starring are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe and Lily-Rose Depp. Eggers wrote it with Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón.

Do not dread the darkness. Embrace it. Robert Eggers' WERWULF is only in theaters this Christmas. Witness Robert Eggers' most visceral and haunting experience yet. Focus Features presents WERWULF, a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation and the devil within.

For some reason Witch left me cold, but Lighthouse and Northman pilled me and I think he might be my favorite director now. Amazingly, he is now set to direct a sequel to Labyrinth, and the only thing that makes me anxious is everyone keeps joking that he's going to cast Jared Leto as Jareth. Not when Tilda is right there!

Plot details for Eggers' Labyrinth are under wraps, but we're told the film is a sequel, rather than a remake of Jim Henson's 1986 classic. Eggers is writing the script with Sjón, his collaborator on 2022 Viking actioner The Northman, with whom he's also working on Werwulf. Chris and Eleanor Columbus will produce alongside Lisa Henson, with Brian Henson executive producing.
