1930 film may be the first how-to video in history

Before we had HowToBasic, there was Count Etienne Louis Philippe Ścibor-Rylski.

Back in 1930, this tutorial trailblazer created what could very well be the first how-to video in history, asking the viewer one simple question: Would you like to wear a monocle? As the video warns, you better pay heed.

If, for some reason, you find yourself desperately needing to brush up on monocle etiquette a hundred years later, the video has recently been cleaned and colored for the next century of dapper gents to enjoy. Even if not, it's a fascinating bit of historical ephemera from the moment the words "British colony in Singapore" pop up on screen.

And I don't ever want to see you wearing your monocle on the wrong eye again!
