Five friends in San Francisco decided that walking was overrated and concluded that furniture deserved a night out, too. This video shows the group gliding down the street while relaxing on a couch that had somehow been mounted across two scooters. It looks like something out of a slapstick comedy, and I love them for it.
The most surprising part is that the sofa-on-wheels makes it through an intersection. As spectators watch and cheer, two people on the couch carefully guide the unusual setup. Their confidence while riding the couch down the busy road makes it seem like this is a casual, everyday occurrence.
To be honest, I'd trust this contraption far more than I could ever trust a Waymo. At least I'd still be in control of steering this one, even if it's a bit unconventional. I'm not sure it would pass any kind of transportation safety inspection, but it does have a certain charm.
