When I was a kid, my Dad, a Marxist, used to tell me Marxist parables adapted from the Conan stories he'd grown up on, but starring a gender-diverse trio called "Harry, Mary and Larry," with the storylines tweaked for maximal socialist moralizing.

It turns out that this isn't all that aberrant among the Red Diaper Baby Experience. Eric Olin Wright is an analytical Marxist who raised his kids on extemporaneous Marxist fairy-tales, and recorded them for posterity. They are hilarious. Unfortunately, they're presented as crapware Windows Media streams as opposed to downloadable files, so I can't load them on my iPod, but listening to these brought a real nostalgic smile to my face. I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.
