A reader writes, "Joshua Pennings from The Netherlands makes amazing animal sculptures from metal and old tools. He is blacksmithing and welding them with great detail. Some are fantasy pieces and others are really life-like." Link

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Hmmm, I figured the guy who does this in my home state was the only one with this kind of large scale rust-art, but I guess not! You can see some of his work here:

  • Paul Maurice Martin

He makes natural-looking connections between the angles and shapes of his materials and those of the creatures he depicts.
