Il 430Xn.55937821 Gama-Go's Greg Long pointed me to these sugary sweet little porcelain "Bears In Love" by Katherine Grandey and Andy Byers, available from Etsy for $69. The pair is available for $69 on etsy. You can "inquire for individual bear," but I bet it would be lonely.

So would this be two males fighting over a female? That sort of bears in love?

  • jahknow

I know someone who would appreciate this. Not that there’s anything wrong with that….

  • joel_kelly

    i want!

  • AlanJ

They remind me of the Ghosts in Love salt and pepper pots my friend game me:

    Here’s the live action version.

It’s a bit granny-kitsch for Boing Boing really isn’t it? I mean you start with porcelain bears in love, pretty soon porcelain clowns are weeping under porcelain umbrellas.

  • Jazzhigh

Look closely, those bears aren’t in love… They are clearly working out a master plan for picnic basket theft.

  • Crunchbird

I look forward to the upcoming collection of “Hummel Zen” links.

  • jjasper

    One for Stephen Colbert?

  • Bemopolis

Based on the price I would have expected the bears to have a, um, different relative orientation.

  • thehoundoflove

Damn you JazzHigh and your hilarious comments.
    Gettin’ me busted at work.
Maybe everyone else just thinks I’m laughing at this HILARIOUS paper work.

Hmmm… come to think of it, I actually did laugh at some paperwork once. I was filing some medical records and one of them was an office visit for a man who had hurt his arm trying to catch a falling microwave. I always like to imagine that scenario for a good chuckle…

Wait, what does this have to do with bears?

  • heyfred

    What? On boing-boing? Really?

  • rookling

Gak. People want this? These? Whatever the wording is.

  • Talia

So I understand the pair is available for $69 on Etsy? :p

  • copiesofcopies

Schlock by any other name, including “hand-crafted,” is still schlock. These should at least contain salt and pepper.

  • dofnup

But where are they available, and for how much?

  • wolfiesma

Sweet little bears. They remind me of a set of ceramic coffee mugs from the 70′s and 80′s. You know the ones with all the animals doing weird sex positions? Apparently my parents didn’t see anything wrong with letting their children drink orange juice out of cups like these:
