The LA Weekly reports that AIM Healthcare, the "porn valley" clinic that tests sex performers for sexually transmitted diseases, has shut down and filed for bankruptcy. "We were told a privacy lawsuit challenging AIM's handling of patient records was the last straw for the clinic that was taken private and reopened in February following a December shutdown at the hands of state and county health officials."

What a nasty, shitty thing to say. You find it exciting that porn actors might catch diseases. Wow. You’re an asshole.

      uh, yeah, shitty.

      Try renting this instead…

I’m sure the message you’re trying to get across is as the Doctress and coop say “Shitty”, but at least we can all feel satisfied in the fact that 99% of people perusing the comments won’t be bothered taking the time to try and translate it into English.

As the marketing coordinator for PrePaidLab.com, we’d love to help in any way possible whether it’s through utilizing our website to help fill the testing void created by this closure or by utilizing our resources to help set up a network of labs in the area to help the adult industry as a whole… just let us know what we can do – Chris

This is dreadful news. AIM was a wonderful organization that worked very hard to offer testing and treatment to all folks in SoCal, not just porn performers. Sharon Mitchell, the founder of AIM, is a generous and warm person who truly cared about the welfare of the people who worked in the industry.

Hopefully, more resources will become available. The LA Gay & Lesbian Center offers free rapid testing to everyone, and I believe there are more organizations that do the same.

Though for porn performers, it’s essential to have an easy, fast, and reliable resource for record keeping, so it’s a shame that AIM failed in that regard.
