The surviving members of Monty Python's Flying Circus have reunited to voice an animated adaptation of Graham Chapman's incredibly funny, very weird memoir A Liar's Autobiography. The film will include recordings of Chapman reading from the book as well. Regrettably, the movie will be in 3D, but with luck I'll be able to find a screen where it's showing without the need for dark, greasy, migraine-inducing prosthesis.

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

I wonder if it’ll be upfront about his sexuality. Might cut into the profits, that, so I’d bet not.

The surviving members *except* Eric Idle, at least for now.
Still looking forward to this (in 2D)!

I’m guessing that the opportunity to see Terry Gilliam’s animations in 3D will be a real treat.

    Douglas Adams helped write it.

“but with luck I’ll be able to find a screen where it’s showing without the need for dark, greasy, migraine-inducing prosthesis. ”

I remember how, when I was little, we couldn’t get a color TV because my dad insisted all that color was a “terrible strain on the eyes!”

I remain baffled by the people who have trouble with 3D. I put on the glasses, I look at the screen, I see 3D.

Well, I only have peripheral vision in one of my eyes so 3D is utterly useless to me.

Back on topic, I’m surprised that Idle isn’t on this as well as he seemed to be the one most intent on cashing in on the Pythons legacy.

If anyone can do something great/stupid/funny/original/audience-trolling with 3D it’ll be the Pythons

  • holtt

Why would they be greasy? Every movie I’ve seen so far gave me a new pair and I wasn’t required to return them.

Can’t wait for this – Algy and Biggles will, no doubt, get naked at the back of the plane and laugh. Celebrities overcoming addiction might be an autobiographical staple and generally self-serving shite, but the way Chapman quickly dispenses with his alcoholism (to talk about much more interesting stuff) is a lesson to everybody who thinks their life is worth writing down.

    >He said the comic would be pleased “his work is being reimagined in glorious 3D – he always loved wearing silly glasses”.<

For Graham I would bear 3D.

    This I was expecting.
