I found the end of his obituary as enjoyable and poignant as I found the first part hilarious. Although I understand his decision I’m a little sad that he opted not to have a funeral. After all if there’s anybody who could put the “fun” in “funeral” it’s gotta be Mr. Patterson.

We should all hope to have such funny, moving and insightful obituaries.

And, if I may add, we should all also hope to have such a life well lived with someone we loved so dearly.

If the drive-in he stole the safe from was the Motor Vu in Salt Lake City, then that’s the place in this iconic photo: http://frontpsych.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/at-the-drive-in-classic-movies-6987580-1280-997.jpg?w=450

Somewhere in Salt Lake City a jaded police detective is closing a long-dusty file and issuing a lengthy sigh of relief, finally closing out that case.
