I've taken to using Google to check up on old friends and see what they're up to. Last night, I dug up Zak Hanna, who was just about my best pal from the age of 14 to my mid-20s. We got into all kinds of trouble together, and even then, he was a guitar virtuoso. So these days, Zak is playing in a band called Picastro, which has been signed to a little microlabel, which has made a couple of MP3s off their disc available for download. It's lovely and spooky and haunting, and takes me back to my teen years, when I would fool around with my computer while Zak thrashed away on his guitar.
