On Monday, Dayton, Ohio bus driver Ricky Wagoner, 49, was assaulted and shot by three men. One of the bullets hit him in the leg and the other two were apparently stopped by a bible in his shirt pocket. Wagoner then went on to wrestle the attackers, stabbing one with his pen and firing at them with their own dropped gun. "God's on Rick's side," Wagoner's friend Lillie Brown told the Dayton Daily News. Apparently, Wagoner was carrying The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language, but the article doesn't state whether it was the hardcover or paperback edition. In any case, it's definitely a "Holy Bible" now.
