Pioneering post-goth grrrl band Jack Off Jill whom I've adored since their early 1990s feral days in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are reuniting for their first live show in 15 years to take place July 18 in Asheville, North Carolina.
The band just launched a PledgeMusic campaign to support the preparations for this dangerous and decadent undertaking involving special guests from Babes In Toyland, Bratmobile, and Le Tigre along with Daisy Berkowitz (Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids) and visual artist Camille Rose Garcia. It's destined to be a wild weekend with performances and events sure to rival the Grand Guignol.
Here's the Reunion trailer:
"This is not only a reunion, but a way for us to gather some of our favorite people in one place to celebrate what was and what should have been," says JoJ singer Jessicka Addams, who spent the last decade performing with her duo Scarling and developing her career as a successful visual artist. "Much like a cat, I have a need to escape, adventure, and sometimes even disappear for long periods of time… but I know my way home. And my home is on stage with my remarkably talented friends."
