"A dancing driver has been banned from the roads," report police in England, "after parking his car on a roundabout and claiming he was on his way to Stonehenge."
The force said the driver, named as Arkan Al-Asad, was seen driving at 5mph on a major road near Worthing, Sussex, before parking his car by a roundabout.
By the time officers arrived at 2.15 am, loud music was "blaring out from the Renault Megane and Al-Asad was dancing alongside it and waving his arms in the air."
The impromptu, one-man party is seen in bodycam footage, suggesting that Al-Asad—who said he had gotten lost on the way to Stonehenge—may not be in a fit condition to drive.
Asad, 41, refused to give a blood sample and was arrested. He ultimately pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving without a licence. He received fines and was banned from driving for 18 months.
"The fact that he refused to give us a sample that would have proven one way or another whether he was on drugs also did not save him from a driving ban as the magistrates took a very dim view of his behaviour," Chief Inspector Phil Nicholas said in a press release.
