The Wall Street Journal reports (via MentalFloss) that UFO sightings are up 51 percent in 2020, compared to the same time period in 2019. This is particularly disconcerting, because you should all be quarantining, not hangin' outside and lookin' for a few flashing lights in the sky. (Although I suppose it does stand to reason that lower human activity in general leads to clearer skies, which might make it easier to notice various things blinking in the heavens above.)
This data comes from the National UFO Reporting Center in Davenport, Washington, which tracks such reportings. A spokesperson for the Center recognized that, yes, most of these sightings are probably satellites or drones. But they are still, technically, objects that remain unidentified while flying.
