Opened March 18, 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean has long been my favorite attraction at Disneyland. I have vivid memories of it as a child in the early 1970s, as on one of my very first rides, my grandmother became separated from her wig on the second drop. My father managed to fish it out, somehow.
