Prototype turned a Smith-Corona 210 Automatic into a modern personal computer, with the only obvious addition being the external display, which sits on the slide, and is indeed slidden by it.
"We'll have to build each component from scratch!" he says, and he means it—it's a very technical conversion. The most fascinating for me is making a keyboard, complete with PCB, that fits beneath the typewriter keys and perfectly matches it. I would have done something stupid like have a webcam watch what was being typed and a python app to regularly misidentify keystrokes.
Part 2 is to come, and will show how the keyboard goes in and how the display gets attached; this looks like a new channel, so be sure to cycle back.
