If you happen to find yourself walking down the street in Colombia, you might catch a glimpse of a man riding a giant praying mantis bicycle, if you're lucky. Enrique Velez invented a bicycle that walks as you pedal it, and it resembles a large, green praying mantis.
The mantis bicycle has wheels in the back and two legs in the front that pull it forward as it walks and rolls. It looks like something that would have been in the garden in the movie Coraline. I want to take a ride on this mantis bike so badly.
I love that some people wake up one day and decide to spend their time making something as cool as this. This mantis bike adds a little more whimsy to the world. It would make my day to see someone riding by me on this piece of art.
