In a just world, Fredrik Knudsen, the creator of Down the Rabbit Hole, would have the same kind of Netflix docuseries money we give to other directors with such worthwhile visions as "Hey, Wasn't Jeffrey Dahmer Kind of Hot, Actually?" But this is not a just world, unfortunately.
Down The Rabbit Hole is a web series exploring a wide variety of, well, rabbit holes, from the Game of Thrones-esque antics of EVE Online to the intense drama behind an unassuming Skyrim mod. It's addictive enough to make the months-long waits between installments bearable, but a new one has finally arrived.
You may not know the name of pseudoscience phenom Nigel Cheese (no, really), but you should, because he's figured out perpetual motion, free energy and a cure for cancer — at least, if you take him at his word. The newest Down The Rabbit Hole takes a long, in-depth look at his supposed career, including appeals to the King of Belgium, spats with his ex-wife, and a transparently ridiculous cryptocurrency scam. I couldn't take my eyes away.
The Internet is full of cranks and quacks like this, but Cheese stands out for just how put-together and even kind of reasonable he manages to sound as he describes whiteboard magnets putting out free energy. If only he'd put that drive toward anything else.
