An albino softshell turtle looks more like a rare Pokémon than a real animal. Its pale body, leathery shell, and long snorkel-like nose make it seem like a fantasy creature. I had no clue that turtles could look this way, and I'm delighted to find out that they do.
Softshell turtles are unusual because their shells are flat and flexible instead of hard and domed. Albinism makes them look even cooler. They have pinkish eyes and lots of little wrinkles, like a hairless cat.
Because albino turtles are so rare, videos of them spread online quickly whenever one appears in an aquarium or rescue center. The one in this video also has a unique marking on its head. He seems shy yet friendly, and even allows someone to give him a gentle pet on the head.
