Kingdom Hearts is one of those weird franchises I've never understood, and which becomes more obscure every time I've attempted to do so.
So it's like Final Fantasy, but there are also a bunch of Disney characters there, along with a bunch of original characters that look like they've tumbled through a shared costume warehouse serving both franchises and a vat of hair gel. There are about twenty million games in the series with at least one exclusive on every console released since the PS2, making trying to understand the lore a maddening endeavor. So far all I've got is "They fight with giant keys and Goofy is there." Also, there's a really expensive chair.
And there's another one in the pipe. Gameplay of the somewhat deceptively titled Kingdom Hearts IV has been recently shown off, and does little to clear up all my questions. Looks cool, though!
The series has been going for almost 25 years. An onramp or two wouldn't hurt!
