Artisan John T. Unger's recycled steel fire pits cost $450 and are highly badass! I realize this isn't a barbecue pit, per se, but -- hotdogs grilled over a hotrod-style bowl would be, well, totally hot.

Unger’s currently mired in what he has referred to as “an unwanted education in copyright law” – he obtained legal copyrights some time ago to protect his original sculptures (like the one above) from piracy – but now, a ripoff artist named Rick Wittrig has not only begun manufacturing and selling products which are extremely similar to Unger’s, but has even gone so far as to bring a federal lawsuit against Unger to have the copyrights for Unger’s own original artwork overturned.

You can read more about it, and Unger’s appeal for help with the legal expenses right here: http://www.johntunger.com/legal-defense-fund.html
