Michael sez, "The Merry Cemetery is a cemetery in north-east Romania (the Moldovan region). I visited it with my wife and parents-in-law this summer. nstead of a sombre and sad approach to death the Merry Cemetery celebrates life with colourful painted oak 'headstones' engraved with a picture and story of the life of the deceased."

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

if i was still a geography teacher, i’d be apt to show this slideshow for my class – then ask them to draw a picture of what they’d want their own tombstone to look like if they were buried here.

This is awesome. It almost makes me want to get burried after I die. Almost.

Beautiful but a bit too colorful for my tastes. I need my stones a bit more grim.

This was my favorite gravestone of all time.
