Clearly Hugh Howey has become one of my favorite authors. He maintains the fun and pace of a short story while giving us the information and detail we need to feel present in them. The Walk up Nameless Ridge is another fantastic Kindle Single.

Climbing a mountain twice as tall as Everest, on a planet far away from Earth, our protagonist struggles to become first to the top. Decades of experience tell him that first is the singular focus of a true mountaineer. Doesn't everyone want to live on in eternal fame? Isn't that why they climb?

This was a fun read.
