Blogging standardization effort underway: Numerous blogging toolmakers and hackers have signed onto a new effort, led by Sam Ruby, to define standard interfaces for posting to and syndicating blogs.

  1. Damn it, I missed the “history” bit, saw “Numerous blogging toolmakers and hackers have signed on…to define standard interfaces for posting to and syndicating blogs,” and was super excited to tell them to include a concept of “chapters” in RSS this time.

With long-term webcomics, I’d much rather read the story a chapter at a time than a page at a time, and I’ve always wanted a standardized way to get a per-chapter RSS feed.

  2. I’d like to see each story have a marquee scroll.  On my 27″ monitor, if the stories aren’t too long, I can see half a dozen lines of text all crawl across screen in unison.  Would it be too much to ask for them to blink, as well?

  3. i assumed the marque tag was removed, it still functions after all these years of being deprecated…just..no one got around to removing it?
