Animalympics was a loony kids' TV movie from 1980 that parodied Olympic broadcasting clichés.
Uniting furries with outrageous ethnic stereotypes, it nevertheless aimed to cultivate a humane internationalist unity that was sadly lacking in the actual contemporaneous Olympics. I just realized that the sequence embedded above–where stoner Californian diver (and otter) Dean Wilson catches gold–was my first childhood exposure to proper, wholesome drug propaganda stealthed into network childrens' TV.
