Surprisingly, this farce survived the test of time! The Ice Pirates is still one terrible, funny movie!
Robert Ulrich plays Jason, captain to the goofiest crew of space pirates around. Aided by his chief engineer, Roscoe, portrayed by Michael D. Roberts, they kidnap a space princess and seek to bring down John Carradine's hold on galactic water. They are ice pirates!
This slapstick send up of 1970s and 1980s science fiction is fantastic. As Mel Brooks is making another Spaceballs, I thought The Ice Pirates should not be forgotten. Some of the jokes are so bad that I literally cringe.
