Gorgeous video from NASA Goddard's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), which recently marked a 5 year anniversary.
This time-lapse video animates one frame every 8 hours starting when data became available in June 2010, and ending on February 8, 2015. Each color represents a different wavelength (sometimes blended, sometimes alone) in which SDO observes our Sun.
