Longtime Boing Boing co-conspirator Gareth Branwyn invites us to the rebirth of his Café Gaga event series, "a Noh future think tank for short attention spans," in Washington DC.
Gar says:
I've been organizing the return of Café Gaga, the legendary art, tech, and culture salon I ran here in the DC area in the early 90s. I'm doing a new Café Gaga series at Artisphere, the big art space in Arlington, from April to June. We're going to be exploring, through art and discussion, the Internet of Things, 3DP and desktop fabrication, and the growing leaky margins between the online and offline worlds. The Gagas are being done in connection with the Shawn Smith show. Shawn is an artist who explores the membrane between online and offline worlds. The events should be really great. The first one is on April 9th. 3D Systems loaned us some Sense scanners and we're going to be creating 3D images of the attendees that we'll use over the course of the evenings.
If I was in DC, I'd be there for sure.
