More often than not astronauts are just big old nerds, which is just one of the many reasons I love them so much.
Case in point: Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti brought a Star Trek uniform to the International Space Station and tweeted this incredible photo of herself wearing it in space.
Even better, she used a quote from Voyager's Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) as the photo's caption.
Apparently, like Janeway, Cristoforetti is a big fan of coffee and she's particularly jazzed that the SpaceX vehicle Dragon is deliverying ISS's first ever espresso machine.
Lady astronauts paying homage to famous female sci-fi captains? I'm all about that.
